WHY VOTE DEMOCRATIC?
For the undecided, the confused, and the rhetorically lazy: why we back Democratic politicians over Republicans who have been on the wrong side of history for a century.
Democrats consistently back:
1.) Civil Rights - (we all know right wing, red state and Republican stands on rights for people of color; they have resisted it since the inception of civil rights)
2.) Women’s Rights & Equal Pay - (every advance in this arena has been resisted by Republicans; period)
3.) Taxes for the rich - (why are poor Republicans against this? Stockholm Syndrome? Republicans rape the economy while helping the rich).
4.) Environmental concerns - (Fundamentalist Republicans believe that GOD gave us this planet to use and destroy, and hey, we’ll be in heaven pretty soon; so who cares?).
5.) A Woman’s Right To Choose Abortion - (let’s have millions of poor babies, and then take away the social safety net; men shouldn’t be involved)
6.) Oversight of our rapacious financial sector - (dismantled under Republicans)
7.) Immigration - (this “greatest country in the world” is a nation dreamed of, conceived of, and built from scratch by immigrants).
8.) A social safety net for all the people left behind by the obscenely rich - (nearly all social programs were put in place by Democrats, from the New Deal onward; then threatened non-stop by Republicans and billionaires ever since)
9.) Stopping Voter Suppression - (Republicans simultaneously at their most disingenuous and outright treacherous, thwarting democracy with literacy tests, gerrymandering and 20 other tactics designed to steal elections while losing the popular vote)
10.) Rights for the LGTBQ diaspora and anyone else who isn’t a “Normal Heterosexual”. (Famous sexually disoriented quislings like J. Edgar Hoover, Roy Cohn and Lindsay Graham, homosexuals themselves, have been used by the Republican party to attack, expose and ruin homosexuals unmercifully)
This is the Democratic platform. For the first time in history, the Republicans did not have a platform. Trump is their platform; they bow down and hope he doesn’t focus on them.
